A little bit about me.
Over the years, I have studied jewellery making part-time at the Yorkshire Craft Centre, but I am primarily self taught.I have also attended intensive Silversmithing courses at West Dean College, West Sussex and am currently expanding my skills and knowledge in this area.I used to have a 'real' job in Financial Services. Now I design and make jewellery for my living!
I have developed my own style and range of designs. The jewellery is, for the most part, made using sterling silver, but I also use copper and high quality semi-precious and glass beads.
I sell my work at art galleries, retail art, craft & design fairs, and other events as well as via this website. You can see where I am exhibiting during the coming months by looking at the list of forthcoming events.
I welcome taking on specific commissions for your own unique item.
I can also do jewellery parties for small gatherings, and these can be fitted in with themed events.
I hope you enjoy your visit.
Below you will find more detailed information about what I make.
1. Silver Jewellery
I design and make my own range of jewellery using a variety of silver-smithing techniques to create differing textures and patterns on a wide range of silver pendants and earrings.
I also use silver in combination with beach glass, a "found" resource,' and other complementary materials.
The use of Precious Metal Clay to coat real leaves brings them alive in silver earrings and pendants. This technique means each piece is unique and retains all the veining and characteristics of the leaf from which it was made.
I particularly specialise in making hand-forged large link silver chains. These can be made into earrings, bracelets, and necklaces to whatever length you want - they are priced by the inch.
I am currently expanding my range of modern designs made using silver wire.
I make use of copper in combination with sterling silver to create 2-coloured jewellery.
2. Beaded Jewellery
Necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pendants, are all made using high quality glass beads, either on their own or in combination with sterling silver chain or silver pieces.
3. Silver Spoons
I make a small range of silver spoons - salt spoons, tea spoons, caddy spoons and coffee scoops.
I make small silver dishes and small bowls/dishes from copper in the shape of leaves, using real leaves as the templates.
All silver spoons have the Sterling Silver hall-mark from the Sheffield Assay Office, along with my makers mark.
